Description
Fluent Editor, is a tool for editing, manipulating and querying complex ontologies written in OWL, RDF or SWRL. Fluent Editor is fully compatible with most of the Semantic Web W3C standard (OWL, RDF, SPARQL, SKOS,...) but at the same time has an intuitive user interface that uses the Ontorion Controlled Natural Language (OCNL) that is a human friendly alternative to XML ontology language like OWL or RDF but is completely compatible with OWL2, RDF and SWRL. Furthermore the OCNL can also be used as a query language compatible with SPARQL.
Fluent Editor has tools that helps the user to manage complex ontologies: a reasoner window for asking queries to the ontology, a SPARQL window where SPARQL queries can be executed, an XML preview window to see how the written OCNL sentence looks in its OWL equivalent, a taxonomy tree view and an annotation window. Furthermore there are two plugins: a Protege interoperability plugin (to export/import to/from Protege) and an R plugin that uses the ROntorion pakages to plot and list the current content of the ontology.
