- Discussing
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/xml-dist-app/2003Jan/0000.html
- [davidF]
- problem statement for C14N .....
- SOAP intermediaries allowed to change lexical form of SOAP
msgs, reason to reduce constraints on intermediaires
- problem of course is that modifications torpedo digsig
integrity
- c14n proposal permits legal intermediaries' activities while
preserving info needed by dsig
- c14n proposal comes from marc hadley (sun) and martin gudgin
(microsoft)
- JM is concerned about proliferation of c14n algorithmn's
- [Marsh]
- JM suggests looking into this as a transformation (composable
with c14n) rather than an extended canonicalization algrotihm.
- [hugo]
- Summary: obvious thing for XMLPWG to do
- ... however, there may be other similar situations
- ACTION: Hugo to check XMLPWG renewal status
- [davidF]
- ACTION: hugo to check status of xmlp charter and ensure it is
renewed w/ an appropriate date
- [hugo]
- ACTION- 3
- [davidF]
- discussion about whether XMLP should take on the C14N work or
publish it as a Note or something else
- re. WSCG recommendation to XMLP WG about C14N
- [ericm]
- davidF, heads-up on semantic web work... we're (hoping) to go
to Last Call in the next week or two. current;y I have XMLP down as
one of the liason groups for review so if you could mention this in
your next working group and if possible id some people that may be
interested in reviewing rdfcore's work, that would be great
- [davidF]
- we = RDF COre
- [Zakim]
- WS_WSCG()1:00PM has ended
- [davidF]
- (C14N continued) .... XMLP WG should consider publishing the
C14N spec as a Note, should also consider liasing with other WGs
before publication if at all possible (e.g. DSig). The majority of
WSCG is concerned about XMLP WG taking on C14N under its current
charter because it is not in the current charter and deserves wider
(e.g. AC) consideration.
- .... anything else?
- thnx for the confirmation
- i think we can dismiss the agents now
- zakim, bye
- rrsagent, bye
