From the Call for Participation: "Internet-connected computers and the World Wide Web are revolutionizing the ways in which citizens and governments relate. Citizens can use an increasing number of services (e.g. apply for a driving license, ask for tax return) and have easier access to information of public interest including legislation and regulatory information, basic data generated about the operation of government, public policy debates, as well as the basic information about public resources such as geospatial data.
This Workshop will help find ways of facilitating the deployment of Web standards across eGovernment sites, and help shape the ongoing research agenda in the development of Web technology and public policy in order to realize the potential of the Web for access to and use of government information."
A W3C European Symposium on eGovernment was previously organized and a report is available.
There are separate pages with the Agenda and the Position Papers that have been submitted.
Position papers are the basis for discussions at the Workshop, are encouraged, and had to be submitted no later than 22 May 2007. Deadline is over. Thanks to all who submitted papers.

check all area airports for fares. Washington National Airport is located
closest to the meeting location and downtown Washington and may be accessed
by Metrorail subway. Amtrak service is available to Washington's Union
Station. Directions to the Academy from the
airports are available on the NAS site.

We strongly encourage transportation via Metrorail (subway) or taxi, because of very limited parking at the NAS building and surrounding area.

Bottom-GWU station.
2. Turn RIGHT on to 23rd Street N.W. when you exit the station.
3. Walk SOUTH on 23rd Street N.W. for approximately 7 blocks.
4. Turn LEFT on to C Street N.W. (after the State Department).
5. Cross 22nd Street N.W. The next building on your right will be 2100 C St.
