Moore's Law is well known for telling us that computers double in power at constant price every 2 years or so. But looking at it another way, in two years you could have the same power computer for half the price. Since the start of electronic computing we have seen computers getting unremittingly cheaper, from millions of euros for mainframes, to hundreds of thousands for minis, to ten thousand for a workstation, to one thousand for a PC, to the present day soon-to-be-realised 100 euro netbook, each with a different work mode. Are we done? Or is the ten euro computer the next step? And if it is, what will it look like, and how will we use it?
